The successful candidate for the full-time teaching position in the Elementary School will demonstrate the ability to design units aligned with the Common Core and then deliver high-quality instruction in an affirming, inclusive community classroom, upholding the mission and values of TLS.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Organizes classroom systems and manages student behavior to ensure all students are fully engaged

2. Establishes a culture of high expectations espousing university preparation for all students

3. Develops and implements lesson plans and classroom activities consistent with the TLS curriculum

4. Collaborates with faculty to improve and strive for best instructional practices

5. Actively participates in professional development activities

6. Provides students and their families with regular and timely information on classroom activities and student progress; finds ways to involve parents/guardians in classroom and school events

7. Tracks critical student information and maintains accurate student records, including attendance, progress reports, and grades in accordance with TLS procedures

8. Identifies unique student needs and collaborates with colleagues to diagnose and address learning challenges

9. Demonstrate knowledge of, and support, the TLS mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior.

10. Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

Qualifications:

Valid state teaching certificate in Elementary Education
