Marketing & Events Manager

Detroit Metro Times is looking for someone who likes to produce crazy fantastic, memorable, and electrifying events and get the word out about all of the promotions we have to offer! If you have a zest for life, have boundless energy, and live life to a different beat, you want to be our next Events & Promotions Manager!!

What Will You Do? At the core, you will be responsible for:

• Work closely with Events & Marketing Director and other members of the marketing team to determine the role for events/promotions in overall marketing strategy

• Develop, grow, and maintain strong partnerships with local and national businesses; vendors, community leaders, and internal partners

• Work with designers and writers or outside promotional agencies to develop creative theme and collateral for events and promotions

• Select venues for events and ensure they are safe and inviting and speak to the theme of the event and personality of the target audience

• Develop, implement, and manage event production timelines

  What We Are Looking For:

• Strong managerial and leadership skills enabling effective collaboration with other internal and external contacts

• Established partnerships with area businesses, vendors, and venues

• Thorough knowledge of Orlando’s alternative social scenes and media outlets

• 5+ years Event Coordination/Production and promotions experience

• Strong communication, interpersonal, organization, time management & project management skills

• Bachelor's Degree
