Art Director

Orlando Weekly, one of Orlando’s preeminent creative forces, is looking for an Art Director who is highly imaginative and innovative, a driven team player and leader who loves collaborating with diverse-minded artistic graphic designers, photographers, writers, and advertisers to oversee and manage our creative operations.

As an Art Director, you will:

• Be a Visionary: Use your ingenuity, passion, and eye for design to conceptualize and produce modern, sophisticated, and attention grabbing design for covers, features, editorial pages, and special online presentations that furthers the story-telling in print and online
• Be a Leader: Provide creative guidance and leadership to staff to ensure work is accurate and completed according to deadline
• Be a Brand Builder: cultivate the paper’s identity and raise awareness through relationship stewardship with internal and external contacts

What we’ll value:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Art/Graphic Design, Advertising
• 5+ years experience in Art/Creative Direction, preferably in a publishing or advertising environment
• Know inside and out all facets of Adobe CS: Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat)
• Basic video editing skills
• Think outside the box while respecting the fundamental rules of design and when it’s ok to break those rules
• Ability to drive brand engagement and awesome positive attitude!
• A strong work ethic and desire to work in a fast-paced, fun, demanding environment
