Staff Writer

The San Antonio Current has a rare opening for a staff writer as of July 1.  We are seeking an engaging, creative, and spirited individual to join our team of talented writers and editors to produce both long-form cover stories and hard-hitting blog posts.  This person will have big ideas and boundless energy to tell San Antonio stories, big and small.  The ideal candidate is someone who wants to nuzzle into San Antonio’s warm embrace and then get after it and dig up stories. We are looking for someone who can/has:

• Turn around well-reported cover stories every month as well as pithy pieces every week
• Make meaningful contributions to format-busting special issues and engage Current’s audience across our digital platforms
• Strong understanding of journalism, magazine publishing, and editorial concepts
• Superior spelling, grammar, and punctuation skills
• Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Mass Communications
• Strong functional knowledge of magazine and social media and digital production
• 2+ years experience in journalism
