The Staff Accountant collaborates with all departments to analyze and prepare financial statements while leading the accounting team.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide monthly detail of general journal entries
  • Monthly Closings and preparation of monthly financial statements
  • Prepare for yearly audit and coordinate work as assigned by the CFO
  • Prepare analysis of accounts as requested
  • Prepare year-end closings
  • Administer accounts receivable and accounts payable
  • Account/bank reconciliations
  • Accomplish accounting and organization mission by completing related tasks as needed
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Experience Level Requirements:

  • Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple task seamlessly with excellent attention to detail
  • Team-player, with ability to be extremely effective independently
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Knowledge of financial reporting
  • Technical accounting skills
  • Able physically to lift the weight of a filled archive box, bend over file, cabinets, sit at computer 3-4 hours at a stretch
  • Maintain professionalism with customers and staff at all times

Knowledge, Skill Levels & Certifications

  • A minimum of 3 years of general accounting experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, & PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the accounting cycle
  • Experience with Great Plains required
