The position of Staff Accountant The position of Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the Controller and the Accounting Managers in ensuring the smooth operation of the department by performing a variety of accounting duties.  The Staff Accountant will build and run reports; prepare or assist with various periodic calculations, schedules, reports and filings; assist with facilitating the exchange of data among the loan servicing systems, purchased loan accounting system, and general ledger, and analyzing results stemming therefrom; support audits and examinations; prepare or review monthly reconciliations; prepare and input general ledger journals; serve as backup and support on various departmental work; and perform other duties associated with the Bank’s general ledger accounting activities. Assures compliance with all Bank policies and procedures, as well as all applicable state and federal banking regulations.

Minimum Requirements

• Associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent from 2 years college or technical school; or 3 years of related experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.  Work related experience should consist of accounts payable processing.  Educational experience, through in-house training sessions, formal school or financial industry related curriculum, should be business or financial industry related.
• Basic knowledge of related state and federal banking compliance regulations, and other Bank operational policies. General banking experience, methods and procedures related to transactions and bank account or general ledger reconciliation.
