Industrial Maintenance Technician
Job Description:
We are currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our any shift Maintenance Team. This position requires performing preventative maintenance, both an aptitude for PLC controls as well as mechanical skills. This schedule includes Saturday’s shifts and overtime hours as needed.
Job Responsibilities and Duties:
As an Industrial Maintenance Technician, you will be required to show a strong knowledge of AC/DC theory, as well as the ability to troubleshoot 3 phase motor control systems and PLC.
- Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on packing machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacture’s instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
- Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
- Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.
- Proficient with PLC programming including diagnosing PLC programs and making modifications to the program, if needed.
- Fabricate repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipments.
- Maintains equipments, parts and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
- Possess and continually improve the technical skills necessary to perform assigned maintenance.
- Responsible for the setup, operation (initial start-up and operation), and maintaining of multiple complex, high-speed packaging lines, conveying systems.
- Coordinates with production and maintenance supervision ensuring production lines are properly configured for the desired products and maintains the line to meet production goals and standards.
- Responsible to ensure the line is functioning and operating safely including sanitation, lubrication and any adjustment before start-up and during line operation.
- Identifies mechanical, operational, and electrical problems and corrects problems; and requests support from other maintenance skills when necessary.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
- Must perform work with minimum or no supervision.
