We have 70 locations throughout Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, Polk, Lake, Seminole, and Orange counties with plans for future growth. Currently, we are seeking an experienced Breast Ultrasound Technologist to join our dynamic team at our new Baldwin Park location located in Baldwin Park/Orlando.

JOB SUMMARY:  

The Breast Ultrasound Technologist operates specialized equipment and performs breast ultrasound exams and procedures, under direct supervision, to help in the diagnosis and treatment of breast diseases.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform breast ultrasound exams and procedures per established standards and guidelines.
  • Evaluate images for quality to maintain ACR accuracy in patient positioning and imaging techniques.
  • Document patient and exam / procedure information in software programs.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of human breast anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
  • Provide patient education and answer questions regarding breast ultrasound exams and procedures.
  • Follow infection control and safety measures for all exams and procedures.
  • Perform equipment quality control functions and ACR documentation related to breast ultrasound.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma (or equivalent).
  • Accredited Ultrasound Program graduate.
  • American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) registered license.
  • ARDMS Breast (BR) Ultrasound certification.
  • CPR / BLS certification.
  • Continuing Education - 30 breast CME / CEU credits
  • Minimum one year of recent experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • eClinicalWorks (eCW) electronic medical record experience.
  • Medical Reporting Software (MRS) breast imaging reporting experience.
  • ACR Accreditation / MQSA Regulations experience.

  • Must possess the ability to interact and communicate professionally and effectively with all levels of internal personnel, providers, personnel of outside organizations, and patients and their family members.
  • Must possess good organizational skills, handle multiple tasks concurrently, and be able to work effectively with all levels of aforementioned groups.
  • Must attend required meetings and participate in team activities and professional development activities.
  • May be exposed to radiation, noise, infectious / communicable diseases, blood and bloodborne diseases, bodily fluids, toxic substances, and other conditions common to a clinical environment.
  • May be exposed to distressed patients, families, or visitors.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients.
  • Requires occasional lifting / carrying of items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Requires walking, standing, sitting, bending, and reaching.
  • Requires manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination with frequent computer monitor usage.
  • Requires normal visual acuity and hearing.
