POSITION OBJECTIVE
The accounting clerk position will be responsible for providing accounting support to the accounting managers and perform any other duties assigned by Accounting Management. This position will perform complex accounting functions to support Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payables, and general accounting. All aspects of duties are performed in accordance with Salamander Hotel and Resorts Operating Policies and Procedures.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Knowledge of working with General Ledgers and general accounting controls.
  • Perform complex accounting duties such as monthly journal entries, reconcile bank and balance sheet accounts, and run financial reports.
  • Working knowledge of Accounting terms, principles, and processes.
  • Knowledgeable in all related software systems including SMS, Jonas, Club, Epicor, and Shift4.
  • Participate in monthly surprise house bank audits.
  • Assist with various A/R, A/P, Income Audit and General Accounting Duties.
  • Owner Accounting – Computes transactions of owner’s accounts, payments.
  • Post all work orders and invoices to owner’s folio and weekly reconcile 11330’s account with AP to ensure a zero balance is maintained.
  • Assist accounting management with the day to day, monthly and year end tasks.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all proprietary accounting and membership information.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the resort as directed by resort management or immediate supervisor.
  • Answer all incoming phone calls in a professional and pleasant manner.
  • Assist in monthly closings.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years accounting experience; Hopitality-related A/R, A/P, wholesalers required.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office products (word processing, spreadsheet application) and accounting software.
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting and bookkeeping principles and procedures.
  • College degree (B.A., B.S., etc.) from four-year College or University preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

  • Maintain harmonious and professional relationship with all departments.
