Human Resources Manager

Essential Duties

  • Handles employee relations issues/investigations in a timely manner by conducting research, interview and analysis of data collected during the investigative phase.
  • Responds to unemployment claims and represents the company at unemployment hearings.
  • Conducts HR audits to ensure that all Company policies (such as documentation requirements, hiring/termination practices, etc.) are executed consistently and in accordance with Company guidelines.
  • Provides guidance and consults on a broad range of Employee Relations issues including HR policy and procedure interpretation and/or applications; employee concern and issue resolution; federal, state and local regulations.
  • Possesses ability to research and write policies that best meet the strategic needs of the company.
  • Prepares investigative reports, makes recommendations for discipline/termination, analyzes data, and records findings.
  • Consults leaders on performance management.
  • Consults with leaders regarding termination decisions and ensures that all proper corrective action procedures are implemented where appropriate.
  • Ensures consistency in the application and enforcement of policies and procedures and the compliance with all government regulations (EEO, INS, ADA, FMLA, ADEA) and all Federal and State laws.
  • Handles workers compensation claims through proper filing and follow-up with provider.
  • Experience in and the ability to administer benefit plan by working closely with the benefit broker and other providers

Requirements

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Displays strong analytical, organizational and project management skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Ensure consistent application of company policies and procedures and confirm compliance with Federal & State laws and regulations in a multi-state environment and background in staffing and strategic planning.
  • Proficiency in the use of Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS)
  • Must be professional in appearance/demeanor
  • Exceptional mastery of grammar and publication proofing
  • Proactive self-starter with good problem-solving and project management ability
  • Ability to work in a team environment and maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to design, implement and deliver applicable training programs, a plus

 Education/Certification:

  • BA/BS in Human Resources Management or related field is required
  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years experience in the applicable areas of HR 
  • SHRM or HRCI Certification preferred (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM- SCP)
