The mission of The Los Angeles Film School is to inspire students with an inventive method of education that concentrates on preparation for career opportunities in the entertainment and media industry. POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a Program Director with hands-on experience in the digital filmmaking industry as well as online teaching experience to manage the academic bachelor of science degree. The Program Director is responsible for hiring and training faculty, directing curriculum strategy and reviewing curriculum materials for quality, supporting students and student activities, participating in the marketing of the program, administrative management of the program, and participation in broader school activities. The Program Director performs these responsibilities consistent with the vision, mission and strategy of the school. Program Directors display the highest professional standards, representing the school with a positive demeanor and a collaborative spirit.

Students are creative professionals and entrepreneurs from diverse cultural and educational backgrounds worldwide. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Winter Park, FL, working from local offices in support of The Los Angeles Film School.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum four years professional work experience in filmmaking
  • Bachelor’s degree in closely related field required; master’s degree preferred
  • Teaching experience required, preferably including online
  • Management/supervisory experience preferred
  • Excellent communication abilities, both verbal and written
  • Positive attitude, a desire to help others, and a passion for educating and developing people
  • Proficiency with relevant industry tools and technologies
  • Competent using Apple/Microsoft computers and Microsoft Office applications
  • M-F daytime schedule on campus. May require availability during some evenings or weekends.

The Los Angeles Film School’s Digital Filmmaking Bachelor of Science Degree Program immerses students in the art of digital video and film production, utilizing the latest tools available to today’s media developers to create professional content for broadcast television, online media, mobile applications, and independent films. Students learn to take a story through the entire creative process, including developing a script, planning the logistics of production, working on location to capture their story on camera, as well as file management, editing, and distribution.
