Store Manager
Summary of Primary Job Function:
This position is responsible for selling Company's furniture and accessories, including follow-up with existing and prospective customers. Partner with the In-Home Designers to assist customers with in home design through the use of House-Call Program. Guide your customers to make the right purchasing decision to meet their needs and help their design vision come to life through sketch layout and making design suggestions. Ensure you are being present on sales floor, team selling, coaching, travelling between stores, and meeting sales goals and metrics. In addition, the MIT is responsible for assuming the responsibilities of the Store Manager such as; i.e., opening and/or closing the store, ensuring that proper store procedures and policies are followed when store management is not on duty or unavailable on the floor. This is a supervisory role.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
Your main responsibility is to treat all people you come in contact with daily, with the highest level of customer service in order to create “customers for Life one, exceptional experience at a time”.
Greet and treat customers and staff with 100% enthusiasm and respect.
Achieve Furniture Galleries productivity levels as follows:
Closing ratio 25%
Fabric Protection minimum of 80%
Leather Protection minimum of 85%
Minimum average transaction of $1350
Average In-Home Transaction of $2,499
Minimum of 2 qualified In-Home house calls per month
Meet Minimum Monthly Sales Standards set annually by the Company
Ensure that areas of responsibility (AOR’s) are inspected daily for optimum cleanliness and presentation by dusting, vacuuming, etc…
Maintain integrity of the showroom display under the guidelines established by the Store Manager
Assist in the preparation of the showroom for sales and special events as instructed by management
Responsible for maintaining the SOR, scheduling deliveries and logging comments are for all customer contact
Ensure that prospects are entered in TRAX on a timely basis
Complete all sales paperwork and customer service issues in an accurate and timely manner
Assure all company assets, daily receipts, cash, and personal customer information are secure at all times
Attend and participate in all company training, store staff meetings, Sunday morning meetings and other general sales meetings without tardiness
Responsible for quoting prices, book In-Home appointments, and schedule deliveries within prescribed guidelines
Be informed of the products’ specification and information
Able to work independently with minimal supervision
Able to work scheduled shifts, unless change is authorized by Store Manager
Explain manufacturer's warranty and return policy to customers
Process credit card or take payments in cash or checks according to Company and PCI DSS compliance
Enter sales, reserve incoming stock, and look up SKU numbers in the system
Visit customer’s homes for In-Home design consultation and layout sketching
Consistently mail out both “Thank-You’ and “follow-up” cards
LEVEL I. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Open and closes the store following proper Company procedures
Ensure that alarm is set properly
Ensure that cash drawer is properly opened, closed and that proper credit card procedures are followed
LEVEL II. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain the integrity of the showroom display under the guidelines established by the Store Manager
Assist in the coordination and preparation of the showroom for sales, store promotions and special events as instructed by senior management
Ensure that sales staff is entering prospects in TRAX on a timely manner
Assist Sales Consultants in closing sales and saving sales as needed. Assist customers with special orders
Assist with customer related issues at the store or via phone, supporting internal and external customers
Work closely with delivery department and other support personnel
Maintain harmony and teamwork within the Sales team
Handle employee relations issues in Store Manager’s absence
Brief store manager on employee relations issues
Balance daily business and prepare reports for accounting office as required
Responsible for cash drawer balances
Make daily bank deposits before 2:00 pm as required
Level III. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure that all sales staff is maintaining the SOR, scheduling deliveries and logging comments are for all customer contact
Complete all sales paperwork and customer service issues in an accurate and timely manner
Assure all company assets, daily receipts, cash, and personal customer information are secure at all times
Attend and participate in all company training and general sales meetings without tardiness
Be informed of the products’ specifications and information
Demonstrate and instruct customers in proper use of furniture, fabric and leather protection
Able to work scheduled shifts, unless change is authorized by General Manager
Contact customers via phone to follow-up on purchase or announce arrival of special orders
Assist in the preparation, development and delivery of daily and/or weekly staff meetings
Authorize and input credit memo and voided sales into computer
Designs and reports individual and departmental performance metrics for continuous improvement
Attend industry educational programs and conferences as required
Monitor and enforce the following Company sales program(s)
Performs other related duties and/or projects as assigned by the store manager

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or equivalent
At least 1 year of relevant work experience
Management/Leadership experience
Experience in the retail industry is preferred
