If you want to work for a company where effort is noticed and rewarded look at Maple Street, Inc.  Maple Street, located in Central Florida, provides outsourced contract negotiation and vendor management/compliance services to community financial institutions.  The 14+ year old company is growing and has an immediate opening for a Contract Review Specialist. Reporting to the Manager, Contract Review Team, the position reviews third party vendor contracts to ensure all components of the contract are included such as relevant dates, signatures, all pages and attachments. The contract review process involves following a prescribed method of reading contracts to ensure accuracy.  Contracts are typically multiple page documents with complex language that frequently includes master agreements and multiple exhibits and schedules.

  • A natural curiosity for solving problems, someone who likes to solve puzzles, finding needles in haystacks and is challenged by investigations.
  • The ability to work independently, but the ego strength to know when to ask for help and ask questions.
  • Possesses common sense, persistence, business smarts and critical thinking skills and uses these capabilities to navigate the complex language and structure of contracts.
  • Naturally persistent, does not easily give up and enjoys the challenge of finding the solution, taking the time needed to find the right answer.
  • Takes personal pride in “getting it right” and delivering an accurate, quality work product.
  • Comfortable reading contracts in electronic format the majority of the day.  It is quiet, contemplative work that requires attention and focus.
  • Enjoys working in a team environment, relies on others for information and feedback, but also able to work alone working for long stretches without much interaction with others. 
  • Good communication skills including both written and verbal.

Experience - requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent business experience.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years prior experience in reviewing simple to complex contracts for completeness.
  • Forensic Underwriting or Fraud Analyst experience is desired
  • A background as a paralegal working for an attorney that works with transaction contracts or a buyer of complex products or services is a plus.
