Avanti Palms Resort and Conference Center a newly renovated hotel on International Drive in the heart of Florida's tourist corridor is seeking a Lead Engineer for the Maintenance Department. 

The Lead Engineer is in charge of the Resort Maintenance Department when the Director of Facilities is not on property and they insure that the department functions in accordance to the policy and procedures established for the department, while ensuring that every guest maintenance request is responded to in a professional and timely manner.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the property to always look professional and free from any deficiencies including but not limited to painting, light fixtures and bulb replacement, floor and seating coverings, physical appearance of all assets kept crisp and up-to-date and all grounds and vehicles.
  • To maintain the physical assets in an effort to meet our standards of operations and to ensue the longevity of the asset and mechanicals of the property.
  • To distribute work assignments to the proper team members in the best interest of their respective talent, job position and the efficiency level.
  • To consistently spot check staff to ensure that work assignments is being competed in a professional and timely manner.
  • To inspect and verify that a PMP log for each unit has been PM properly and has been inspected.
  • To assist to ensure the level of quality with respect to the structures physical and operational requirements.
  • To assist as required ensuring that the department has adequate supplies to meet the operational needs.
  • To ensure that all members of staff have been adequately trained and that they understand their responsibilities, departmental goals and objective.
  • Maintain the key control system for the department that protects the security of each respective area.
  • Train staff and lead by example on the importance of safety to prevent on the job injuries and guests incidents.
  • Prepare employee schedules when required in according to the business forecast and business demand.
  • Maintain standards regarding purchase orders, vouchering of invoices and payables.
  • Induct, orient and train assigned personnel as required to meet their departmental responsibilities.
  • Operate in compliance with all local, state, and federal laws and government regulations.
  • Maintain MSDS within the department as required.
  • Store and maintain all chemicals and other hazardous materials in safe and proper storage units as required.
  • Maintain and ensure a high level of professionalism throughout the department and staff.
  • Conduct monthly departmental meetings with staff as requested by the Chief Engineer.
  • Participate, train and develop staff on all property emergency procedures that protects both our guests and employees on a day to day basis.
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment at all times for both the employees and guests. Job

Requirements:

  • Previous property/resort management experience (3-5 years minimum)
  • Licenses and/or certifications as required by law.
  • Skilled in systems maintenance and repair.
  • Skilled in the proper and safe use of all tools, equipment, materials, chemicals and products related to the department.
