Vinyl Fence Plant is seeking fulltime permanent Packers.
JOB SUMMARY:
Perform basic inspection and correctly package finished product that meets specification from assigned lines.
Assist the line Operator and others in line setup, startup, operation, and shutdown.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES RESPONSIBILITIES, JOB FUNCTIONS AND REQUIRED SKILLS
• Read measurements with a tape measure, micrometer, and caliper.
• Interpret part Specification Drawing to comprehend specifications and packaging.
• Inspect all finished product prior to stacking for basic defects Including length variation, square cut variation, bow, insert fit, assembly width, corner variation, part cleanliness and surface defects including wave, chatter lines, sinks, contamination, scratch lines, streaks, excessive burn, excessive color variation, and excessive gloss variation.
• Count and stack quality specification compliant finished product in bundle or box as required in the part Specification Drawing.
• Correctly fill out Packer Inspection Sheet legibly as required.
• Able to identify basic extrusion line equipment by name and function.
• Assist the Operator in line startup, line shutdown, and as required when problems occur.
• Assist the Operator in disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly of dies, calibrators, and vacuum tank components.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the packaging area and the assigned extrusion line.
• Use hand saw or sawzall to cut product when automated cutter cannot.
• Use notcher as required.
• Prepare and apply wood, strapping, plastic shrink wrap, foam, fiberboard, cardboard or other necessary items In packaging of the finished product.
• Cut wood lumber with table saw, chop saw, or hand saw.
• Cut plastic shrink wrap and fiberboard with scissors. Use knife or box cutter only as directed,
• Use shrink wrap heat gun to shrink and seal shrink wrap plastic.
• Fold cardboard and apply adhesive for boxed products.
• Apply labels correctly.
• Perform other duties as assigned and capable for the assigned line, the shift, and the site.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English
• Able to read, comprehend, and follow safety warnings and instructions
• Able to use Personal Protective Equipment as required
• Able to correctly perform basic math including counting, addition, subtraction, multiplying, dividing, and calculation of an average.
• Able to use hand tools as required with training.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to stand and/or walk for 12 hour shifts or as schedule demands
Ability to work 12 hour shifts 4 days a week as schedule demands to complete a 42 hour work week
Ability to lift up to 15 pounds with repetition and on occasion lift up to 50 pounds
Ability to move parts from one location to another as required
Ability to measure, cut, and place lumber and shrink plastic for packaging purposes
Ability to use basic hand tools such.

Hours: 6:00AM-6:00PM & 6:00PM-6:00AM
Shift: rotating shift, 2 days on and 2 days off, then 3 days on and 3 days off, etc.
Term: Fulltime to Hire
