Position Summary:
- Install, inspect, troubleshoot and repair commercial HVACR equipment such as Rooftop Units, Split Systems, Boilers, walk in coolers, and Chillers
- Conducting routine maintenance on Chillers and cooling towers, and the ability to diagnose and address issues
- Perform routine maintenance of A/C and heating unit systems including filter replacement, drain pan, and coil cleaning
- Working with control voltages and wiring methods
- Participate in meetings, workshops and training to gather and convey information required to perform job functions
- Prepare written reports (work order status, activity logs, etc.) for documenting activities and/or conveying information
- Requests equipment and supplies to maintain correct inventory amounts and ensure availability of items required to complete installations and/or repairs
- Pick up/delivering parts or equipment as needed
- Perform related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school education is required
- Requires 8 to 12 years of job related experience
- CFC recovery license or ability to obtain one
- License preferred
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair commercial HVACR equipment such as Rooftop
- Units, Split Systems, Boilers, walk in coolers, and Chillers without supervision.
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot gas fired boilers
- Knowledge of refrigeration equipment (walk in coolers, ice machines)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
- Good electrical knowledge involving single and three phase voltages from 120-480 volts
- Advanced or specialized training in HVAC, plumbing, or electrical preferred
- Knowledge of tools, techniques and procedures of miscellaneous plumbing, HVAC, electrical, repairs and installation
- Knowledge of local city ordinances and codes, and OSHA workplace safety standards
- Ability to perform strenuous work, including lifting heavy objects, and the ability to stand or stoop for prolonged periods of time. Use of ladders and man lifts while wearing a safety harness will be required.
- Ability to interpret and follow verbal and written instructions and diagrams
- Wear or use proper safety and PPE equipment
- Ability to work as a team or independently
Work Environment:
- Work requires physical strain including bending, lifting, and standing for long periods of time.
- Overtime may be required as needed.

- As a condition of employment in this position, the incumbent will be subject to call outside of regular hours to respond to emergencies, including the preparation and maintenance of College facilities, grounds, systems and services during inclement weather crises
