Job Title: Painter
Department: Engineering
Reports To: Chief Engineer and Engineering Manager
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs a wide variety of painting, inside and outside, work around the Village, including but not limited to:
- Inspects assigned work area, identifies needs such as wall repair, wall replacement, touch up painting or full repainting
- Prepares, primes, sands, seals, patches and paints; furniture, surfaces, buildings, and fixtures utilizing all types of painting materials such as varnish, lacquer, shellac, enamel, latex, epoxy, water-proofing and heat resistant finishes
- Tapes, flushes, repairs and applies texturing, wallpaper, and acoustic layers on a variety of surfaces
- Adjusts colors when necessary; utilizes enhanced finishing skills when appropriate.
- Applies materials to new construction, existing, multi-story buildings, alterations, and remodeling
- Operates, cleans and maintains all painting equipment, including brush, roll, sprayers and electrostatic sprayers, pumps, etc. Safely stores and labels all materials. Orders and maintains an inventory of paint and materials
- May on occasion be asked to cover radio calls and work orders in the HotSOS system, or be asked to work on special projects or run errands. When covering radio calls or work orders, the individual responds to the requestor and resolves the issue within a reasonable amount of time, closes out the order and makes follow up notes in the HotSOS system
- Provides preventative maintenance services to the guest villas and public venues
- Adherence to attendance standards

PHYSICAL DEMANDS BEYOND NORMAL OFFICE ENVIRONMENT:
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. unaided
- Ability to work outside for extended periods in varied outdoor conditions
- Flexible schedule to include rotating schedules, nights, weekends and/or extended hours of work
QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIFIC SKILLS:
- Demonstrated ability to hang, replace, tape sheet rock and prep the work surface
- Demonstrated knowledge of paint types, color matching, mixing, application and storage
- Must be able to competently use all necessary types of equipment, tools and applicators
- Should have an eye for detail including colors, texture and shading
- Must be able to work with brushes, poles, sprayers
- Must be able to speak, read and write English to communicate with guests, volunteers and staff
- Ability to operate a motorized vehicle, including a battery-operated golf cart
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- High School Diploma
- Two years of verifiable history or similar field with an emphasis on painting
