BASIC FUNCTION: The Server is responsible for providing prompt, courteous food & beverage service for the guest.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Interact with guests to take drink and food orders.
- Communicate with kitchen for food ordering.
- Ensure prompt delivery of food to the guest's table.
- Have working knowledge of liquor, beer, wine and food that is served at the property.
- Handle all checks and cash according to procedures.
- Ensure cleanliness of restaurant including polished flatware, clean glassware and plates.
- Be familiar with all property amenities and other restaurants.
- Use proper verbal etiquette including greetings and using the guests name.
- Respond to any reasonable task as assigned by supervisor or manager.
- Help out in other areas of the restaurant, including seating guests.
- Be familiar with other aspects of the resort in providing information as to assist and ensure guest satisfaction.
ENVIRONMENT:
Indoors, dimly lit, carpeted, climate controlled environment. Hard kitchen floors with occasional slippery or greasy areas. Handling hot china and silver. Outdoors, cement surfaces, with exposure to outdoor climate and elements.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One year restaurant/banquet experience (Fast Food experience will not meet this qualification).
- High volume experience.
- Good food and service knowledge.
- Pleasant personality.
- Excellent communication skills. Must be able to balance trays for food and beverage service
- Must be able to wrok a corkscrew for wine service
- Must be able to lift, carry and pour water pitchers and coffee pots.
- Must be able to work responsibly in a team oriented atmophere
- Must be able to carry up to 50 lbs.
