The Paralegal is responsible for supporting General Counsel primarily in real estate, trademark, and employment law matters.
Under the direction of an attorney, this individual will resolve routine legal issues.
It will be the Paralegal's responsibility to research and analyze law sources, such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, treaties, constitutions, and legal codes to prepare legal documents, such as briefs, pleadings, appeals, wills, contracts, etc.
Familiarity with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures is essential and relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
The Paralegal II performs a variety of tasks and works both independently, as well as with other departments such as Risk Management, Human Resources, and Operations.
Essential Functions & Key Supporting General Counsel Knowledge of real estate transactions, such as: Title and survey review, drafting and processing SNDA's and estoppel letters Understanding of lease abstracting and contingency tracking and working with a lease management system Creation and maintenance of the contract data base Familiarity with EEOC and FLSA matters Support of EEOC filings and discovery requests Work with outside licensing vendor and/or outside counsel for the procurement of alcohol and business licenses and renewals of existing alcohol and business licenses Work with other departments to compile and organize information necessary for registration and renewals of alcohol and business licenses Drafting of restaurant level service contracts Maintenance of corporate books and filings Preparing and filing of annual corporate renewals in multiple jurisdictions Conduct and analyze trademark searches Work with outside counsel for the registration of trademarks Work with other departments to compile and organize information necessary for registration of trademarks YourMembership_RPM.
