Wyndham Destinations is currently seeking a Staff Accountant. This position will be responsible for the monthly preparation of financial statements. In this role, the Staff Accountant will record transactions in accordance with GAAP and corporate policies, review cash flow roll forwards, oversee inter-company accounting, record cost allocations and perform financial statement analysis. In addition, the accountant will be responsible for preparing monthly balance sheet reconciliations, assisting with forecasting, and other assigned functions in support of the month-end close. This position will also have responsibilities to support the quarterly corporate reporting process, quarterly audit process and other special project as assigned. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
 

  • Record journal entries in support of the monthly financial close process. Entries to include Intercompany charges (domestic and international), Brand and Digital department expenses, cash transfers, foreign country financial results, and various reclassification adjustments.
  • Reconcile, review and maintain assigned general ledger account reconciliations.
  • Review, reconcile, correct and report roll forward financial activity in support of the monthly corporate cash flow financial statement close. This cash flow information will be used to compile the Company’s Cash Flow Statement.
  • Review and analyze financial results. Research and prepare written variance analysis for review with accounting manager and other members of management.
  • Team with our Financial Planning and Analysis team to assist with budgeting and forecasting.
  • Assist with special projects within the department.

Requirements 

  • Minimum of 1-3 years accounting experience 
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting 
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, attention to detail with exceedingly high quality, possesses excellent written and oral communication skills, and knowledge of practices and concepts associated with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Advanced excel skills
  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft, Oracle and Hyperion financial systems helpful.
