The Marketing and Event Director will oversee and manage the planning, coordination, oversight and production of Euclid Media Group Events, as well as client events we are paid to produce. Locally, Euclid Media Group operates Orlando Weekly and Creative Loafing Tampa, who both produce unique-to-market lifestyle events and festivals including The Orlando Beer Festival, Bite Night, Beer Merica and United We Brunch. The candidate should be familiar with Orlando Weekly and/or Creative Loafing Tampa and our events. This position will keep abreast of market trends and have a working knowledge of the local event landscape, understand the competition, and create truly unique event experiences that resonate with our audience, as well as the market, press, sponsors, etc. This position will work closely with the Sales, Marketing and Executive teams in planning sessions and staff meetings and provide advice and guidance on market trends and product positioning. This role will oversee and execute all marketing strategies that drive event attendance and profitability. This role is ultimately responsible for the events to hit their revenue targets and be successful.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

This role entails the following expectations, but is not limited to:

Marketing & Event Department Management

  • Manage, create, and execute a portfolio of events, new and established
  • Develop detailed plans and schedules for event and promotion production both in preparation for an event and for insuring a smooth-running event on-site
  • Identify and secure bids and contracts from/with event vendors
  • Identify and execute ways to drive consumer and participant event revenue
  • Select venues for events and ensure they are safe and inviting and speak to the theme of the event and personality of the target audience
  • Procure all necessary permits, insurance, and sanctions – including tax related documents when needed
  • Sell, and assist reps with sales and oversee event and third party sponsorships
  • Oversee and procure paid vendors and participants for events and establish strong positive relationships that foster repeat business
  • Lead search and selection of non-profit organizations who will be beneficiaries of portion of event proceeds
  • Solicit and utilize feedback from event and promotion participants, coordinators, and other individuals involved to modify future events and promotions
  • Develop, implement, and manage strategies to drive event attendance
  • Hire, Train & Oversee Event & Marketing staff and interns
  • Oversee event revenue and expense budget
  • Monitor, review, and report on all event plans, projects and results
  • Maintain database and working knowledge of, as well as attend, other existing events for purposes of prospecting, scheduling, planning and competitive analysis
  • Coordinate lead generation efforts for advertising and event sales, and manage prospect pipelines
  • Assist in development and execution of sponsorships and sponsor experiences within events
  • Oversee production of event collateral, advertising, marketing, etc.
  • Partner and collaborate with Sales/Advertising team on sponsorship proposals and sales
  • Develop, Maintain and Grow strategic partnerships and sponsorships with local, regional, and national businesses, governments, press, charities and civic organization
