Technician - Auto Technician I, II or III

The Orange County Sheriff's Office in Orlando, Florida invites applicants to apply for the position of Auto Technician, Auto Tech I, II, or III (depending on current certifications)

Job Summary:

Conducts routine maintenance on vehicles. Repairs inoperable or damaged vehicles. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.  Determines the services required for each vehicle and which vehicles are ready to be issued. Performs general clerical duties to include typing, maintaining daily vehicle logs, and documenting monthly vehicle consumptions. Depending on assignment, assists in the operation of the Fleet Service Desk and perform road calls on agency vehicles.

Requirements

Auto Technician:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• One (1) year related experience and/or training
• US Citizen or possess a current permanent resident card
• Valid Florida Driver’s License and good driving record
• Good employment history and background

Salary:  $30,451 or $31,366 with 3 years of experience

Auto Technician I:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Must have National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification for Brakes, Heating & Air Conditioning
• Two (2) years related experience and/or training
• US Citizen or possess a current permanent resident card
• Valid Florida Driver’s License and good driving record
• Good employment history and background

Salary:  $31,990 or $32,968 with 3 years of experience

Auto Technician II:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Must have National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification for Brakes, Heating & Air Conditioning, Electrical/Electronic Systems, and one additional certification
• Two (2) years related experience and/or training
• US Citizen or possess a current permanent resident card
• Valid Florida Driver’s License and good driving record
• Good employment history and background

Salary:  $33,952 or $34,611 with 3 years of experience

 Auto Technician III:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Must have National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification for Brakes, Heating & Air Conditioning, Electrical/Electronic Systems, Engine Repair, Engine Performance, Suspension & Steering, Manual Drive Train & Axles, and Automatic Transmission
• Two (2) years related experience and/or training
• US Citizen or possess a current permanent resident card
• Valid Florida Driver’s License and good driving record
• Good employment history and background

Salary:  $35,276 or $36,337 with 3 years of experience
