JOB SUMMARY:

Provides clerical and administrative assistance by performing duties such as sorting/sending mail, completing reports, filing, and notary work; handle faulty equipment citations, courtesy notices, subpoenas and routine statistical report. Depending on assignment, may be required to collect monetary funds and issue receipts.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES:

  • At least 18 years of age
  • U.S. Citizen or possess a current permanent resident card
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Clean criminal history; any arrest history will be individually evaluated.
  • No illegal drug usage within the past two years, all other usage will be evaluated on an individual basis.
  • Depending on assignment, must be able to become FCIC/NCIC certified within one (1) year and a public notary within six (6) months of accepting this position.
  • Ability to work Monday-Friday 0800-1700 hours and occasional weekends and/or holidays, as needed.
  • Ability to utilize basic computer skills to include word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications; learn specialized department software.
  • Capable of entering and retrieving data, running queries, modifying and/or verifying accuracy of records, and updating files into appropriate databases (i.e. FCIC/NCIC and Tiburon); maintain confidential and/or sensitive information.
  • Ability to monitor logs and accurately inventory, order, and distribute equipment/materials.
  • Ability to greet on-site visitors and provide assistance with questions and/or paperwork; route to appropriate individuals.
  • Ability to sort/send mail, complete reports, file, and notarize; handle faulty equipment citations, courtesy notices, subpoenas and routine statistical report. Ability to collect monetary funds and issue receipts.
  • Ability to interact with the general public and demonstrate good communication skills in person and over the phone.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and demonstrate self-initiative.
  • Ability to effectively manage time and maintain organization.
  • Above average interpersonal and interviewing skills with an ability to build working relationships to enhance team productivity.
  • Must be able to comprehend and communicate fluently in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to interpret and write reports and correspondences.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • One (1) year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Basic knowledge of state and county laws and ordinances.

SALARY:  $13.27/hour or $13.67/hour with 3+ years of experience
