Vice President of Sales
Essential Functions
- Develop and implement business and sales plan (in conjunction with marketing team) for key product groups for growth in revenues and profits.
- Direct and coordinate company sales functions including personnel and budgets.
- Direct the hiring, training and performance evaluations of sales staff and oversee their daily activities.
- Develop and implement promotion and incentive strategies for products, key distributors, customers and dealers balancing corporate objectives and customer satisfaction.
- Provide, monitor and manage forecast of all product lines. Provide delta reports and actions plans required for significant shortfalls or growth against goals.
- Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of sales, methods, costs, and profits against plan.
- Develop sales plan support for marketing of products, advertising, key customer meetings, sales meetings and regional and national trade shows.
- Establish and implement short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
- Negotiate contracts with vendors and distributors to manage product distribution, establishing distribution networks and developing distribution strategies.
- Evaluate the sales aspects of product development, such as sales budgets, return-on-investment and profit-loss projections.
- Acquire new, and administer existing GPO/IDN, distribution agreements and Government contracts, manage and develop other key national accounts (Medline, McKesson, etc.,)
- Manage and direct inside sales and customer service team. (7 direct and 6 indirect reports).
Core Competencies
- 5 – 7 years progressive leadership in sales
- Proven track record of sales growth.
- Capital Equipment, DME and/or Medical Furnishing Sales Experience.
- Experience in strategic planning and execution. Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management.
- Knowledge of structuring sales quota goals and revenue expectations. Experience in planning marketing strategies, coordinating advertising campaigns, and successful public relations efforts related to sales.
- Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within deadlines.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects.
- Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings.
- Excellent computer and analysis skills. Must be competent with Word and Excel. Knowledge of forecasting or sales software.
- PipeDrive CRM or similar experience required.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and use data for performance tracking of territories, individuals, product lines, departments etc., to be able to manage to KPI’s
