Pastry Chef (AM Shift) - Caribe Royale
The Caribe Royale is not only a beautiful hotel to visit; it's also a great place to work, offering an incredible variety of career opportunities. The Pastry Chef will work under the direction of the Executive Banquet Chef and provide the creative direction, supervision, and coordination of all activity by pastry cooks in the preparation and presentation of desserts, pastries, cakes, and other confections. The ideal candidate will be highly artistic in their ability to create decorative items as well as supervise & train all personnel under their supervision, encouraging creativity and individuality. They will create production schedules and complete requisitions for supplies. They will supervise the preparation of all banquet dessert items, as well as a la carte items for restaurants and special events. The idea Pastry Chef will have a thorough knowledge of food rotation and spoilage, safety, sanitation, food cost, and labor controls.
At least 5 years experience as a Pastry Chef or Assistant Pastry Chef is required. Apprenticeship certifications are accepted. Must be able to work a flexible shift, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Only candidates that meet the above qualifications will be considered.
