JOB SUMMARY:
Manages the activities and subordinate supervisors of Information Management Services (IMS).
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Business, Public Administration, or related field; and seven (7) years of recent progressively responsible computer and project management experience, three (3) of which were in a managerial/supervisory capacity, in an enterprise class organization (i.e., department size with 40+ people, over 1000 employees and associated devices, and 100+ servers).
- May be required to obtain FCIC/NCIC certification and/or training certificates on core technologies.
- Must be able to comprehend and communicate in verbal and written English.
- Must have mathematical skills to include working with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference; ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Must have intermediate computer skills to include word processing, presentation, calendar/scheduling, spreadsheet, and hardware applications; have general working knowledge of the various systems and equipment associated with a Microsoft Enterprise system.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
- Must have excellent leadership, supervisory/management, interpersonal, project management, organization, and planning skills; ability to provide oversight to section managers, supervisors, and staff.
- Ability to convey, apply, and demonstrate thorough knowledge of related practices, laws, regulations, and Sheriff’s Office policies and procedures.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents.
- Ability to effectively present information to top management.
- Ability to perform upper level administrative duties to include budgeting, writing correspondences, and generating reports.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; reach with hands and arms; and use hands to handle or feel. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk and sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds (e.g., to handle general office work). Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to prepare, review, and edit special project related papers, documents and reports (e.g., schedule changes, yearly statistics, manpower needs, travel reports, performance evaluations, statistical summaries, etc.).
- Applicants with body ornamentation (tattoos) shall not have any visible body ornamentation on the head, face, and neck area, which includes the visible skin while wearing a collared uniform shirt with an unbuttoned top button. Employees shall not have any visible body ornamentation located on the hands which is defined as the area from wrist to fingertips; however, a tattoo simulating a wedding ring on the ring finger of the left hand will not be considered excessive as described herein. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree (M.A. or M.S.) in related field.
- Managerial experience.
