At Cru, our Digital Products and Services department creates and innovates technology solutions for the global Church that help to make disciples. We call it Digital Missions.

Who we’re looking For:

We’re looking for a User Support Project Manager who loves blasting through the barriers that clunky technology creates. Making people happy makes you happy. One of your personal rules is to never repeat the same sequence of commands in a CLI more than 3 times; you script them instead (another is never turn down a legitimate excuse to wear a cape). Discovering the heart behind a challenge is your first step toward addressing the problem itself; you ask yourself, “why” before tackling the “how.” Not that you’re obstinate, it’s just that you know that often, the root cause is deeper than the symptoms that present themselves. You’ve converted your VHS collection to .AVI files, because you abhor clutter, but inexplicably cling to your LP collection. Seeing someone you’ve helped succeed is one of your greatest joys. You want to see the technology you help with be used to make a difference in this world. But maybe that isn’t enough. You want to be a difference maker for the sake of the Gospel and help make Jesus known to the ends of the earth.

About the Product Support Team:

You’ll be working directly with our Product Support team. The Product Support team is kind of like the A-Team for technology (without the firearms and explosions). They are extremely experienced and knowledgeable, humble servants of the Lord. In addition to taking on special projects, the Product Support team serves as “interpreters” between users and developers by providing Level 2 & Level 3 support for the huge panoply of Cru’s web and mobile apps. All our staff have made clear choices to answer God’s call in their lives leaving successful positions in various industries to pull together and preach Christ through digital solutions.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Administrating G Suite for Cru and its affiliated ministries
  • Migrating Cru ministries into our Enterprize G Suite instance
  • Managing website functionality and features through Wordpress
  • Regularly supporting users via email/chat/phone
  • Getting Hands on Training from Senior Team Members
  • Travel within the US a few times each year
  • Getting Training through Conferences
  • Drinking & Making Coffee
  • Going to Company Parties

Skills you need to have:

  • Administrating Wordpress (Wordpress Multisite is a Plus!)
  • Complete Google Apps Suite Administration
  • Managing Security Policies
  • Advanced administration across entire G Suite
  • Manage DNS and Domains
  • Comfortable with Migrations 
  • Domain Administration
  • Ability to present ideas to peers and leadership teams
  • Strong Communication Skills (Verbal and Textual)
  • Familiarity with HTML/CSS/Javascript
  • Comfortable using Windows and Mac blindfolded (firing squad optional)
  • Patience with non-technical users for hours at a time

    Requirements:
    • Has once had the email address webmaster@company.com
    • Has mistakenly formatted or deleted the wrong drive (format c:\ or sudo rm -rf /*)
    • Deep love for Jesus Christ
    • Deep desire to share the Gospel with the world
    • Willingness to receive and respond to feedback (it’s not personal)
    • Living in or willing to relocate to Orlando, Florida
    • 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role
