Job Title: Housekeeper
Department: Housekeeping
Reports to: Executive Housekeeper, Assistant Housekeeping Managers, Housekeeping Coordinators
OVERVIEW/PURPOSE:
Ensure all aspects of the day-to-day routines within the Housekeeping Department are met, with direct responsibility for the stripping and pre-cleaning preparation of all Villas and great attention to details in order to provide guests with a perfect storybook experience.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain and organize Housekeeping warehouse
- Prepare clean linen, cleaning and villa supplies for Villa Attendants
- Stripping of linen from villas
- Removal of trash from villas
- Trash pickup in front of all villas on property by specified time
- Maintain and supply cleaning chemicals to all Villa Attendants
- Removal of medical equipment from villas and calling Support Services for pick up of same
- Respond to all radio requests in timely manner for guests or staff
- Assist in villa deep cleaning by moving furniture or kitchen items up to 75 lbs.
- Daily removal of dirty rags from Food & Beverage outlets
- Daily provide clean rags to Food & Beverage outlets
- Order villa supplies from Support Services in a timely manner to maintain warehouse inventory par levels
- Communicate with one another to make sure all areas have been covered
- Able to work varying schedules based on occupancy and special projects, which can include extended hours
- Complete special projects and able to assist with special assignments as needed
- Twice weekly conduct Disney linen runs including placing orders of items to be replenished, delivering dirty linen and picking up clean linen from Disney Textile Services
- Adherence to attendance standards
- Additional duties as assigned
PHYSICAL DEMANDS BEYOND NORMAL OFFICE ENVIRONMENT:
- Able to stand for long periods of time
- Lifting/moving of heavy objects up to 75 lbs.
- Work in outdoor weather conditions
- Work flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, holidays and extended hours
QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIFIC SKILLS:
- Able to perform all daily duties of position with limited supervision
- Ability to communicate any needs or ideas to help improve work environment
- Ability to communicate with guests, management, coordinators and other staff members on Village needs
- Good decision-making skills for safety
- Ability to operate a motorized vehicle, including drive battery-operated carts and box truck
- Basic math skills
- Able to communicate clear and concise both written and verbally in English, bilingual Spanish is a plus
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- High School Diploma
- Past work experience as a Houseperson for a minimum of two years is a plus
