We are looking for a Laboratory Supervisor to be part of our free standing ED in Lake Mary.

Orlando Health Emergency Room and Medical Pavilion Lake Mary will open in late summer of 2019. Located at 392 Rinehart Road, Lake Mary FL 32746, this facility will open in two phases:

Phase One: Three-story, 60,000-square-foot emergency department with up to 24 treatment rooms and two floors of medical office space.

Phase Two: 60,000 square feet of additional medical offices, a surgery center and other health-and-wellness concepts.

Summary:

Provides security services to ensure order and safety of patients, visitors and hospital personnel.

Education/Training:

High school graduate or equivalent. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word for report writing purposes.

Licensure/Certification:

  • Valid Florida drivers license and must be insurable under the Orlando Health insurance carriers requirements and standards.(1Security officers, who are unable to maintain this requirement after at least 90 days of employment must sign a "No Driving Document" which will be maintained in the officers department file and remain in effect until the approval to drive is given by the insurance carriers as determined during routine driving records checks.)

  • Must obtain a State of Florida Class "D" Security Officer License through the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services within 90 days of hire renewed biannually.

  • Must obtain Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) Certification within 90 days of hire renewed annually.

Essential Functions:

  • Patrols all areas of the hospital internally and externally on foot, bicycle, and/or vehicle 24 hours a day in all weather conditions. (Only security officers who meet the drivers license standards for operating an Orlando Health owned vehicle listed in the licensure/certifications section of this job description will be permitted to perform motor vehicle patrols.)

  • Provides key assists to all areas of the hospital, including sensitive areas to authorized personnel.

  • Detects suspicious activities within the campus and handles the situations appropriately.

  • Reports criminal activity to supervisor and law enforcement, as appropriate.

  • Investigates accident scenes, searches for and preserves evidence; investigates and interviews witnesses; makes oral and written reports; responds to varying situations with tact and diplomacy and deals with stressful, hostile or irrational person(s), whether due to physical or mental disability, drugs, or socio-economic differences or other factors and recommends legal action if needed.

  • Assists medical staff with the enforcement of Baker Act (F.S. 394.463) and Marchman Act (F.S. 397.675-397.6775) patients with the use of approved medical restraints as requested by physicians under Florida Statutes.

  • Works with law enforcement/correction officers dealing with patient/prisoner intake and status during the duration of their stay in the hospital. In addition officers will assist the Patient Care Coordinator with securing the status of non-publicity/high risk patients.

  • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
