In this role you will start as a Sr. Accountant or Accounting Manager depending on your experience. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who can work with individuals at all levels of the organization, and with a growing Accounting team, to increase effectiveness and efficiency of the day-to-day financial operations of the company. We prefer that you have Property and Casualty industry experience, as well as having led or managed others.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Utilize understanding of GAAP accounting to prepare financial statements for the MGA's with minimal review. 
  • Utilize understanding of statutory accounting to prepare financial statements for the insurance company with minimal review.
  • Completion of all investment accounting; and most sections of the quarterly and Annual Statements.
  • Accurate and timely preparation of schedules and information for external auditors.
  • Independently prepare various reconciliations.
  • Work with and lead team members on different projects.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of accounting experience
  • CPA preferred
  • Insurance industry experience preferred
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and QuickBooks is a must
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and meet financial reporting deadlines
  • Strong initiative and creativity in problem solving skills
  • Expert attention to detail
