Job Title: Shift Lead - Food and Beverage Operations
Department: Food & Beverage
Reports To: Manager of Food & Beverage Operations
OVERVIEW/POSITION PURPOSE:
Provide day-to-day and on-going leadership, direction, vision and support to ensure the Give Kids The World Standards of Quality, Safety, Show and Service Excellence are consistently maintained throughout all Village food and beverage operations, including the Towne Hall Food Court front-of-house experience and dish room operation.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Volunteer Oversight
- Oversee all food and beverage related specifics of the GKTW Volunteer experience
- Each shift, conduct volunteer training and assign specific jobs to volunteers
- Throughout the shift, provide coaching and recognition to enable volunteers and encourage retainment
- Work with Volunteer Services to ensure adequate coverage for shift
Operations
- Ensure staff and operations for Pizza Kitchen, Service Counter, Express Start Breakfast, Ice Cream Palace and Noah’s Nook run efficiently and effectively. This includes: training & monitoring volunteers, product quality, equipment, deliveries and stocking
- Ensure volunteers are properly trained, operations run effectively and guests’ needs are met for all deliveries, which includes: Pizza, Breakfast Cart, Cookie Cart and Katie’s Kitchen
- Monitor and train staff/volunteers for the dish room to ensure proper methods are utilized. Conduct inspections as needed. Ensure equipment is proper working order
Support
- Collaborate with corporate-supported and funded food operations to ensure practices and procedures are followed
- Stock food court serving lines with clean/sanitized dishes, utensils, etc. as needed
- Assist with the set-up and breakdown of dining areas as directed
- Assist with the receiving of food products.
Guest Service
- Ensure the guest experience from arrival, greeting and check-in are delivered with Service Excellence
- Coordinate the fulfillment of special need requests
- Ensure all allergy requirements are maintained
- Food quality, variety, preparation and presentation
All other duties as assigned
PHYSICAL DEMANDS BEYOND NORMAL OFFICE ENVIRONMENT:
- Regularly required to walk, stand, bend, stoop, reach, balance, use hands and arms for extended periods of time
- Ability to work in inclement weather
- Ability to lift up to 50+ pounds, unassisted
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, to include rotating shifts, nights, weekends and/or extended hours of work

- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- High School Diploma
- At least 3 years of food and beverage experience, including culinary
- At least 1 year of previous management experience
