Sr. QA Automation Engineer - Performance Testing

Alegeus seeks a Sr. QA Automation Engineer to join their dedicated, passionate team of professionals. General skills include the technical ability to drive the automation test strategy by designing, developing and deploying automated and manual tests and test frameworks by utilizing QA software tools and frameworks.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Create system and feature-based automated test plans from functional specifications

Extension and maintenance of existing functional automation frameworks, including design and implementation

Evaluation of complex test plans with an understanding of how to build new, scaleable coverage into existing automation test suites

Collaborate with development teams to understand how development changes affect ongoing automation efforts

Identify the components of the system to be automated based on business priority and benefits of automated testing

Propose and implement test automation solutions and frameworks, commercial and homegrown

Develop, execute and maintain automation test scripts, utilities, data sets leveraging commercial and/or open source tools

Provide test coverage analysis based on automation results

Standardize use of QA tools and processes based on quality assurance standards and best practices

Actively participate in QA related activities (functional, integration, regression manual and automated testing)

Write and review QA documentation

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience required for specific job level

5+ years experience in Software Testing/Quality Assurance of web based applications with a strong background in building comprehensive automated test suites and frameworks using industry leading tools such as QuickTest Pro/UFT, Selenium, Appium; and Web Services testing tools like SoapUI

Strong background in Object-Oriented analysis, design and development, using development languages such as C#, Java / Groovy, Python

Experience using development environments such as MS SQL Management Server/.NET technologies/Visual Studio/Eclipse

Ability to analyze automated test results and metrics, perform root cause failure analysis

Ability to quickly learn new automation applications

Strong background in QA methodologies and best practices

Strong testing experience in high-traffic, data-driven applications including testing multiple backend (relational DB) systems

Ability to write complex SQL queries for data validation and troubleshooting, and to write SQL stored procedures for test framework / harness integration

Ability to identify risks and develop mitigation strategies

Experience in requirement gathering, analysis and validation

Analytical, problem solving, decision-making and quantitative skills

Experience in test management and planning, test effort estimation, test execution and monitoring

Ability to prioritize tasks to best meet departmental and organizational goals

Ability to collaborate effectively with different project teams to achieve QA goals

Experience with deployment systems such as Maven/Jenkins/Team Foundation Server desired, but not required

Experience with Mobile automation tools such as Appium/Android Studio desired, but not required
