Gift Shop Attendant - Part Time

POSITION OBJECTIVE
The Retail Shop Attendant is responsible for assisting members and guests, answering telephones, processing sales transaction and receiving, tagging and controlling inventory.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
•Approach all encounters with guests and fellow service professionals in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.
•Process transaction for all purchases.
•Be knowledgeable about and provide basic product information for guest and members.
•Assist the sales effort by providing information and communicating potential guest/member needs to retail manager.
•Handle all administrative function including answer telephones and processing of special orders, shipping requests, gift certificates and amenity request.
•Tag and place new merchandise on the floor.
•Ensure shop is prepared for proper opening and closing each day.
•Assist in setting up and maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of displays.
•Attend meetings/training as required by management.
•Perform other duties as requested by management.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
•Candidates must be 18 years of age or older. High school diploma or equivalent required.
•2 year pro golf retail experience preferred.
•Must be proficient with computers and POS systems.
•6 months golf shop experience preferred.

REQUIREMEMNTS
•Candidates must be able to successfully pass a Level 2 background screening check.
•Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
•Candidates in this role will be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
•Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
•Must be able to show initiative in job performance, including anticipating what needs to be done before it becomes a necessity.
•Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns.
•Light work- Exerting 20 pound of force occasionally, and/or 10 pound of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
•Ability to stand during entire shift.
•Must work well in stressful, high pressure situation.
•Must be detailed oriented, able to manage high volumes of data with a high degree of accuracy.
