Technician, A/V:

JOB SUMMARY: Provides the Technical Skills needed for the successful operation of an assigned Entertainment venue, project, or event, to ensure show quality and a positive guest experience.


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible to assist with the operation of the audio/visual equipment within the assigned venue, project or event. To include operation of equipment for a live show or event. Takes direction for completion of team objectives in assembly of gear and checking equipment from crew chief and/or lead.
  • Responsible for the appropriate instillation, setup/storage, and maintenance of audio/visual equipment Troubleshoots technical problems as they occur.
  • Accountable for assisting in maintaining venue or event specific inventory of all Technical equipment. Accountable to strictly adhere to all policies and procedures, as defined by the Entertainment Department, governing the safe operation of all technical equipment and pyrotechnic devices within the assigned venue or event.


EDUCATION:
High school degree or GED required.


EXPERIENCE:
One to three years experience within the professional theme park/theater industry in a technical capacity preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Technician III, A/V:

JOB SUMMARY: Hourly position that serves as a technical point person. If unassigned to a specific area, position can be dedicated to specialized projects dealing with audio/visual, special events and general park maintenance, working independent and reporting to a Tech II or higher.


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible to assist with the operation of the show/event audio/visual equipment within the assigned venue or event including but not limited to the operation of equipment/elements in a live show situation. Communicate/resolve technical problems with Entertainment management, Ride & Show and Tech Services. Uses troubleshooting and taking direction for completion of team objectives in assembly of gear and checking equipment.
  • Process work orders, purchase requisitions and inventory systems as directed by chain of command.
  • Responsible for the appropriate instillation, setup/storage, and maintenance of equipment. Assists in training other technicians in the proper set up, use and maintenance of equipment and procedures.
  • Accountable for assisting in maintaining venue or event specific inventory of all Technical equipment and consumables. Accountable to strictly adhere to all policies and procedures, as defined by the Entertainment Department, governing the safe operation of all technical equipment within the assigned venue or event.


EDUCATION:
High school degree or GED required


EXPERIENCE:
One to three years experience within the professional theme park/theater industry in a technical capacity preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Technician II, A/V:

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the highly skilled, discipline specific, technical operations within an assigned Entertainment venue or event to ensure show quality and a positive guest experience.


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Functions as the discipline specific crew chief assigned to an Entertainment Venue or Event. Safe watch employees by assisting to manage proper breaks and ensure lunches are taken by their perspective crews. Responsible to monitor and enforce all policies and procedures as defined by the Entertainment Department governing the safe operation of all technical equipment.
  • Facilitates and troubleshoots with accountability for completion of team objectives from Leads/Supervisor. Expected to accomplish tasks as directed by Lead/Supervisor that supports the team mission with little supervision after direction is given.
  • Assists Technician I with daily maintenance of the Entertainment Venue/Event in order to ensure all Technical equipment is operational and functioning properly.
  • Assists the Technician I in implementing show quality and performance standards as defined by Entertainment Management.
  • Responsible for effectively communicating necessary information, which pertains to the technical operation of the assigned entertainment venue/event, to both upper management as well as employees of the venue/event.


EDUCATION:
High school degree or GED required


EXPERIENCE:
One to three years experience within the assigned technical discipline required. Prior experience within the professional theme park/theater industry in a technical capacity (electrical, mechanical, special effects, pyrotechnics) preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Positions in AV and Audio require:

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift and or move between 25 and 50 pounds
  • Experience with servicing projectors
  • Experience with video servers, video mapping/wrapping/blending
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Working outdoors in all weather conditions (select positions)
  • Maintaining a clean work environment with use of cleaning chemicals
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
