Overview

This is a professional technical position responsible for carrying out the implementation and enhancement of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) data, applications and processes based on specified requirements. The position maintains GIS data, creates mapping, performs quality assurance functions, and assists with the preparation of specifications for new GIS data/applications/processes.

Work is performed under the supervision of the GIS Supervisor.

Representative Duties

• Proficiently uses Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software to maintain GIS layers as assigned.

• Perform basic GIS analysis, documents, plans and analyzes GIS projects as assigned.

• Develops and analyzes business requirements and designs, develops and tests new GIS data, processes and applications.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelors degree from an accredited institution

• Three years of progressive experience demonstrating knowledge of the use and application of GIS data and technologies

• Experience with the application of GIS data and technology in a GIS data production and/or GIS services environment
