Representative Duties

• Uses welding torch, air compressor, grinder, chain saw, drill press, hand and power tools to perform mechanical and electrical repairs to vehicle and equipment.
• Performs preventive maintenance and repairs chain saws, weed eaters, mowers, edgers, tractors and graders.
• Repairs hoses, belts, bolts and minor electrical problems to maintain equipment in proper operating condition and reduces need for in-shop repairs.
• May assist crews with any required maintenance activities as needed

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from high school or equivalent and two (2) years of mechanical repairs, welding or minor electrical experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Must possess and maintain a valid Florida class "B" commercial driver's license or ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire date.

***Applicant (s) selected for all CDL required positions will be required to submit for random alcohol/drug test.***

***Applicants selected for hire in the Public Works Department must successfully complete a Criminal History and Background check.***

Preferences

• 1- Year experience in repairing and maintaining small equipment such as chainsaws, lawn mowers, weedeater, grinders and other power tools.

• 1-Year experience in performing or evaluating preventive maintenance on construction equipment such as dump trucks, flatbeds, backhoe and tractors.

Salary: $14.14 - 16.57 per hour
