Position Summary:

The Master of Human Resources (MHR) program at the Hamilton Holt School at Rollins College invites interested individuals to apply for an adjunct to teach a compensation management course during the 2019 Fall semester. Course content includes financial analysis of compensation packages, economics of compensation, executive compensation, mandated benefits, and control of costs. The course will be taught from a managerial perspective focusing on issues of equity, incentive, and risk.

The class begins August 30th and meets one evening per week (the specific evening is TBD). The hours of the class are 6:45pm – 9:15pm on campus. MA degree is required. Teaching experience and HR certification is desired. Teaching responsibilities include:

  • Teaching graduate students (MHR 557 Compensation Management)
  • Developing and managing the class syllabus and ensuring that the syllabus meets department and college standards
  • Planning and creating lectures, in-class discussions, and assignments
  • Grading assigned papers, quizzes, and exams
  • Assessing grades for students based on participation, performance in class, assignments and examinations
  • Collaborating with department colleagues on course curriculum
  • Advising students on how to be successful in class

The Master of Human Resources (MHR) program is designed for people who are serious about career advancement. The primary purpose of this program is to prepare talented people to be Human Resource (HR) leaders, managers, and professionals who add significant value to their organizations and communities. Most of the students in this program are experienced HR professionals (trainers, recruiters, consultants, or analysts), HR managers, or directors of HR. Some are experienced managers looking to strengthen their people management competencies. Others are early career professionals looking for entry-level positions in HR. The MHR program is recognized by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), the Association for Talent Development (ATD), the Labor and Employment Relations Association (LERA), and the University Council on Industrial Relations and Human Resource Programs (UCIRHRP).

The Hamilton Holt School features a wide range of evening bachelor's and master's degree programs offered during weekday evening hours and weekends, with small classes, dedicated faculty, and diverse students of all backgrounds. Hamilton Holt School undergraduates range in age from 17 to 75, and approximately 1,000 students enroll each year. Most students work part or full time and have family responsibilities. Many students receive scholarship support and other financial assistance thanks to generous supporters.
