SUMMARY
Provide direction, information, resources and administrative support to fulfill customer needs regarding Security Services.Team Leader will also be responsible for participating in the completion of daily requirements of the Security Specialist 2 and Security Administrator roles.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Build a strong team by providing direction, delegation, counsel, and expertise to individual team members and the team as a whole. Provide ongoing feedback to staff on the evening, night and weekend shifts on performance issues and institute appropriate consequence management techniques in order to continually improve the performance of the team and develop individual team members. Demonstrate knowledge and specific course of actions to be taken concerning Crisis Management functions. Answer and respond to the complicated and critical security issue calls.
  • Develop and implement a training program for the Security team, based on goals and directions set by the Security Director and Group Leader of Lake Hart Services.
  • Handle sensitive information confidentially, professionally and with courtesy through general security guidelines and practices. 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Provide leadership to 3-4 Security Services Staff members.
  • Coordinate the following leadership responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws:  interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Help establish and track clear expectations, objectives, and measures for the team.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:  

  • All applicable current safety codes to ensure legal compliance and be kept updated.
  • Security management and personnel security techniques and best practices.
  • Security methods, procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Security systems technology and industry best practices.
  • Establish and maintain a cooperative working relationship with others.
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing, using tact, patience, and courtesy.
  • Work independently with little direction or supervision.
  • Conduct interviews with potential suspects or victims when necessary.
  • Work confidentially with discretion.
  • Use Windows-based applications and computer spreadsheets.
  • Handle stressful situations while remaining calm, including emergencies, complaints and irate vendors, visitors or employees.
  • Monitor activities in and around building.
  • Operate and monitor video equipment
  • Learn, apply and explain rules and policies related to the Security Services teams

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: 

Any combination equivalent to an A.A. Degree in Criminal Justice or Safety Security Management equivalent to or up to three to five-years overall security and/or law enforcement experience; with a minimum of two years in a supervisory capacity to demonstrate the knowledge and abilities listed.
 

Certificates, License, Registrations:

  • Valid Florida Driver’s License
  • State of Florida Security Class D License
