Director, Campus Safety & Security

Seminole State College of Florida is accepting applications for a Director of Campus Safety & Security from candidates with previous law enforcement or security operations experience and strong supervisory experience. The Director of Campus Safety and Security develops and maintains an effective college-wide safety and security program that includes 24-hour a day security for individuals and property on Seminole State campuses, centers and traffic control. Develops procedures and training relevant to crime prevention, investigation, facility security, emergency preparedness, domestic terrorism, and violence in the workplace. Acts as a liaison with local law enforcement, state and federal agencies and advises college administration on safety/security matters. Manages security officers, supervisors and staff.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Criminal Justice or related field.
2. Five years progressively responsible experience in law enforcement or security operations.
3. Five years of supervisory experience.
4. Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License, or the ability to obtain a valid Florida driver's
license within 30 days of hire.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Experience working with a diverse population at a post-secondary educational level.
2. Experience with public speaking and presentations including delivery of training and workshops.
3. Experience working in law enforcement or public administration in a management or supervisory role.
