Human Resources Director

Operating in the Central Florida area for over 80 years, the Holler Classic Family of Dealerships is looking for a Human Resources Director to lead our HR team.  With 500+ employees, we need a dedicated, organized HR professional to participate in and oversee recruiting, hiring, on boarding, employee relations, compliance and company benefits.  Automotive dealership experience is a plus.    

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Recruiting/On Boarding:

  • Oversee and actively work with the recruiter/HR Team and store management to create a staffing plan based on business growth, workforce planning, analytics, and diversity objectives
  • Collaborate with the HR team to identify appropriate selection tools and criteria and increase local outreach efforts
  • Experience in recruiting and screening senior management positions; participate in the recruitment of key roles and promotional decisions
  • Ensure all employees are on-boarded according to Company policy and procedures

Employee Relations:

  • Lead investigations, prepare summaries and make solid recommendations on outcomes
  • Ability to effectively coach employees/managers and/or take an active role in terminations
  • Consult with Legal Department on employment decisions, as needed

Leadership Development:

  • Develop and maintain a succession planning processes using a consultative approach that ensures a strong talent bench
  • Provide managers with the tools and training to improve their skills, both formally and informally

Diversity, Inclusion, and Engagement:

  • Consult with leadership to develop plans to promote and sustain a diverse and inclusive workforce
  • Ensure that the workplace mirrors the Company’s Mission, Vision and Values proposition 

Compliance/Workers Comp and Benefits:

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations (e.g., FMLA, ADA, FCRA, EEO, and FLSA)
  • Communicate, interpret and consistently apply company policies and procedures
  • Consult with the Legal Department, when needed, on the interpretation of policies and procedures
  • Oversee benefit administration processes and participate on the annual benefit selection committee

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master’s degree preferred
  • SHRM or HRCI Certification(s) preferred
  • 8+ years of progressive Human Resources experience in multiple areas of HR
  • Must be an independent self-starter who excels in a fast paced, collaborative environment
  • Ability to understand the business operation from a strategic and tactical perspective and seeks continuous learning opportunities both in the industry and the field of HR
  • Must possess strong communication and leadership skills to effectively interact with all levels within the organization and  have a high level of honesty, integrity and ethics
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects with competing priorities, diverse audiences and challenging environments
  • Have a strong working knowledge of employment law and regulatory compliance issues
