SUMMARY OF OVERALL PURPOSE:
Responsible for planning, creating and executing content across social media platforms. As a resource to our Development Team, working in coordination with the Public Relations Assistant Director, this position will craft and deliver stories to Increase awareness of our mission and significantly impact engagement.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Planning
Develop and manage monthly content calendar, in collaboration with various internal teams and external partners, for optimal storytelling
Create the channel strategy and execute campaigns to deliver on the content calendar and business objectives
Oversee day-to-day management of campaigns to ensure brand consistency
Production
Produce, edit, publish and share engaging content, including video content, to support social media plans
Develop, manage, optimize and provide regular reporting for KPI's for all social media platforms
Coordinate media buys across channels
Create and manage Give Kids The World blog
Publicity
Provide media and publicity support for Public Relations Assistant Director for signature events, campaigns and corporate partners
Community Management
Ensure all social communities are delivering on their objectives and providing a positive experience for users, track user-generated content, respond to comments/questions, etc.
Stay current on emerging technology, platforms and trends to generate new ideas and increase brand engagement
Build relationships with thought leaders and influencers to increase awareness, leverage existing media relationships and cultivate new contacts within the industry
All other duties as assigned
PHYSICAL DEMANDS BEYOND NORMAL OFFICE ENVIRONMENT:
Ability to travel for overnight occasions
Ability to operate a motorized vehicle, including battery-operated golf cart
Ability to lift and transfer 25 lbs.
SKILLS, COMPETENCIES, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Excellent written communication skills, with expert grammar, punctuation and proofreading skills
Experience using communication skills to conceptualize, structure, and write compelling copy transforming complex information into clear, engaging content
Expert knowledge of social media platforms, including their best practices
Professional certification in Google Analytics
General knowledge of search engine optimization and internet ranking for web content
Relevant experience in determining a target audience and catering unique campaigns to each
Strong understanding of marketing strategy
Keen understanding of how to connect business goals and brand objectives to social KPI’s, including hands on experience with social analytics and reporting
Ability to translate campaign results into actionable insights and future optimization
Excellent organizational and administrative skills with the ability to manage and execute tasks in a dynamic environment
Establishes effective working relationships by adjusting approaches to meet the needs of a diverse team
Effectively identifies and analyzes problems. Uses creative solutions to solve problems with varying degrees of information
Proven ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality, tact, professionalism and integrity
PC skills including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Marketing, Communications or Journalism
4-5 years of relevant experience in social media and public relations, designing and executing plans
Experience with fundraising and peer-to-peer campaigns preferred
Experience with photo/video production preferred
