The Orange County, Florida, Facilities Management Division is looking for qualified candidates to fulfill the role of “Maintenance Technician” and provide outstanding customer service through teamwork, innovation and the development of positive relationships with our customers and teammates. Representative Duties

  • Checks and maintains assigned facility, equipment or system for  preventive maintenance and critical operation factors.
  • Using a variety of tools, test and calibration equipment applies accepted maintenance, service, and repair procedures to maintain or return item to proper operation conditions.
  • Modifies or replaces components as necessary.
  • Consults with specific trades' employees or supervisor on special maintenance and repair problems.
  • Performs service and minor repairs on a wide variety of equipment.
  • Multi-trade assignments and responsibilities based on daily operational needs.
  • Performs other related work as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent and two (2) years of experience in special maintenance, service, repair tasks to plumbing systems, building envelope, mechanical and/or HVAC equipment and electrical systems.
  • Additional years of the specified experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
  • Must possess a valid Class E Florida Driver's License by date of hire.
  • May be required to perform mandatory Emergency Standby Duty.

Preferences

  • General knowledge of building maintenance (i.e. apartment complex maintenance).
  • Ability to learn and the willingness to be trained and/or obtain training in skilled areas.
  • Basic skills such as electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, etc.
  • Must be willing to be sent on routine calls (i.e. changing lights, outlets, switch plates, HVAC filters; unstop toilets, etc.) and assist skilled trades personnel when needed.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to include weekends, holidays, shifts, standby and afterhours due to operational requirements.
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
  • May be required to possess and maintain the appropriate valid Commercial Driver’s License for the type of equipment operated.
