Job Description:

As a part of UCF Communications and Marketing, you will work to share the story of the university to our communities, on and off-campus. From moments of triumph in research, sports, and student life to the impact of the university throughout the community, you will tell stories of all sizes and stripes. As part of our award-winning design team, you will build engaging pieces around the university’s many compelling people, places, and things. With a focus on digital executions, you’ll have the opportunity to create concept-driven visual solutions for everything from bite-size social posts to crafting deep editorial features. Our ideal candidate will be both creative and curious because we believe that if it can be imagined, Knights can do it.

  • The graphic design specialist II assists in the development of the UCF brand and policies as it concerns standards for integrated marketing projects and logo use. Specifically responsible for the consultations, strategic planning, professional digital graphic design, and production services to departments.
  • Initiate concepts and designs for advertising marketing materials, with a specific focus on digital executions and ongoing printed materials and publications.
  • Provides professional graphic design and consultation with CM staff, quality control, artwork and, supervision of digital and printed work.
  • Within the Communications and Marketing (CM) Division, shall exercise supervision and authority of the creation and execution of new and existing special-use digital elements and printed materials, under his or her project direction, direction from art directors or the creative director and the UCF Marketing Department.
  • Manage and schedule projects within deadlines and budgets established by UCF Marketing Department.
  • Prepares design work for digital and print applications
  • Helps develop and oversees standards and styles of marketing materials, publications, and ongoing digital and printed materials. Helps manage and maintain graphic standards and fulfills unit identifier requests.
  • Will art direct photography for special projects, publications, web and online, and social media.
  • Works with the UCF Marketing department to establish UCF Marketing goals and sets new standards of quality for UCF digital and printed pieces
  • May serve as the liaison, or point of contact, with one of the university’s colleges or part thereof. Duties include, but are not limited to, collecting information on the college or its parts, and building a partnership in the sharing of information between the assigned unit and the public affairs department.

Work Schedule:

Monday - Friday; 8:00a -5:00p with occasional nights and weekends.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong background in digital media and After Effects animation software a plus.
     
  • Understanding of video production process and on-screen graphics helpful.
     
  • Ability to multi-task and handle prioritization of multiple priorities, deadline-oriented.
     
  • Conceptual thinker and idea generator.
