Security Officers (Full-Time)

Shifts availability

• (4) FT positions - AM Shift, AM/PM Shift, PM/Overnight Shift, Overnight Shift
• (1) PT position - PM Shift

Essential Functions

•    Anticipate, recognize and reduce a security or crime risk, and to take or initiate action to remove or reduce the risk or breach of security. 

•    Inquire verbally and visually of any personnel requesting access to the property to validate their authorized entry into the property - verify identification of a resident, guest or visitor if they do not know them by face and/or name.

•    Inspect the safety, cleanliness and preparedness of the assignment (Gatehouse, Patrol Vehicle or Security Office) prior to accepting the post from the Security Officer you are relieving. 

•    Maintain a pass down log to report critical information concerning that post or patrol - record and review all printed pass-on materials, emails or faxes, etc. into a pass down log. 

•    Provide traffic enforcement and control of vehicles driving within, entering and leaving the property in accordance with the property’s traffic regulations.

•    Report and investigate any incident that affects the safety and security of persons or property within the property. Record activities may that occur during the shift. Maintain an accurate and complete log of all gate access.

•    Conduct visual and physical surveys of unoccupied residents and construction sites documenting the patrols using the patrol verification system. Conduct physical inspection of the property, facility and building and patrol the roadways of the property. Document the patrols using the patrol log and patrol verification system. Respond to calls for service as requested. 

Requirements

•    Candidates must be 18 years of age or older.

•    Must have a valid Florida Driver License with an acceptable driving record.  Valid Florida Class D Security License (or able to obtain within 90 days of employment).

•    Must be able to communicate effectively with guests, management, and FOH/BOH co-workers, and able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.  

•    Politely and professionally handle guest complaints.

•    Be physically able to lift, reach, bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 lbs frequently. Be able to work in hot, wet, humid and loud environment for long periods of time. Able to working in a standing position for long periods of time.

•    Position requires flexibility in schedule – rotating schedules, AM/PM/Overnight shifts, weekends and holidays.

•    All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance. Specific uniform guidelines and/or required articles of clothing will be explained to you as a part of the orientation process.
