Job Description:

The EEO & Search Compliance Manager will lead a critical component of OIE’s portfolio by providing thought leadership and direction to the University’s search and hiring compliance program and affirmative action plan. The manager will perform multiple duties and will assist the OIE Director and campus partners (including but not limited to Human Resources and Academic Affairs) to provide support, guidance, and assistance to faculty and staff involved in the search and hiring process. This position also will utilize statistical data for the purpose of planning, publication, benchmarking, program evaluation, compliance with government regulations, and development of recruitment plans.
 

  • Coordinates and manages all aspects of OIE’s review and evaluation of the search and hiring process.
     
  • Reviews search files for compliance with state and federal regulations and University policies and procedures.
     
  • Works with hiring managers, search committee members, and Human Resources recruiters, provides guidance, and assists in the resolution of identified problems.
     
  • Responds to inquiries from hiring managers, search committees and administrators, Human Resources, and members of the University community related to the search process, AA/EEO issues, and departmental procedures and policies.
     
  • Provides solutions and guidance including referrals to appropriate offices.
     
  • Assists with developing standards for consistent guidance and responses based on University and departmental policies, procedures, and state and federal regulations.
     
  • Provides excellent customer service and employs good judgment in all communications and interactions with the University community.
     
  • Oversees the preparation and updating of federal Affirmative Action Plans.
     
  • Applies knowledge and understanding of current state and federal regulations, institutional policies and procedures, and the department’s practices relative to the search and hiring process.
     
  • Works collaboratively with University staff and external auditors to complete and utilize the Affirmative Action plans.
     
  • Compiles analyses, and reports data and information (numerical/statistical/narrative) used to apprise management of the University’s workforce profiles, hiring and retention trends, applicant profiles, peer comparisons, and progress toward affirmative action and diversity goals, as well as responding to internal and external inquiries.
     
  • Establishes procedures and meets critical deadlines for collecting and updating required information in a timely and accurate manner.
     
  • This position also includes working collaboratively with University departments and external auditors regarding compliance in the search process, Affirmative Action Plan preparation workforce diversity goals and initiatives, and other related projects, including the preparation and presentation of the annual Florida Equity Report.
     
  • Plans and coordinates training of search committees and administrators.
     
  • Participates in workshops with search committee members regarding the search process, AA/EEO compliance, and other related topics.
     
  • Hires, supervises, trains, and evaluates OIE’s two EEO & Search Compliance Specialists.
     
  • Responsible for various administrative duties including document management, record-keeping activities, workflow management, and other duties as assigned, as well as performing other functions or special projects which may be ongoing or short-term and which require project planning and coordination.

 

Expected Salary:

$64,518 to Negotiable

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience with at least 1+ year(s) of leadership experience

 

Preferred Qualifications:

We especially welcome candidates with:
 

  • a demonstrated record of commitment to enhancing equity, diversity, and inclusion;
  • four or more years of experience managing one or more employees;
  • experience with oversight and management of the search and hiring process in a higher education setting, specifically including faculty hiring;
  • knowledge of federal and state laws related to equal employment opportunity and affirmative action, and the ability to work with a wide variety of search-related issues;
  • experience in developing and implementing consistent guidelines for search processes and developing and presenting training to employees;
  • previous full-cycle recruiting experience, including use of an Applicant Tracking System;
  • extensive customer service experience, proven ability to function effectively in a fast-paced and high-volume work environment, excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to work independently and meet deadlines, and capacity to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders; and/or
  • PHR/SPHR, SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification.

 

Florida Clause:

Unless explicitly stated on the job posting, it is UCF’s expectation is that an employee of UCF will reside in Florida as of the date the employment begins.
