Job Summary:

• Provide high-quality care that focuses on assessment, health management, education, advocacy, and prevention.

• Conduct physical exams, prescribe medication, diagnose and treat illness, interpret lab tests, and discuss healthcare options with patients/students.

• Communicate effectively with patients/students about their diagnosis and treatment options.

• Assess real or potential health hazards and current health status, including analysis of health behavior related to lifestyle and culture.

• Devise, implement and evaluate plans of care utilizing sound clinical judgments based on assessment of the physical, psychological, emotional, societal and environmental needs of the clients.

• Assist individuals to assume responsibility for the restoration of health and prevention of illness.

• Consult, refer and collaborate with other disciplines involved in the delivery of total patient care.

• Maintain documentation of patient care through appropriate, accurate, and complete medical records.

• Utilize the resources of the Rollins community and the surrounding community area.

• Provide other health care providers with necessary and/or allowable information to assist in continuity or transfer of care.

• Promote professional relationships with other clinical staff and providers in the community.

• Provide outreach presentations to various campus audiences in order to promote and educate the campus community about services offered, health practices, and wellness initiatives.

• Demonstrate evidence of continuing professional growth by involvement in continuing education, peer review, and the review of protocols and procedures.

• Design and/or conduct assessment/research.

• Attend Rollins community meetings and local in-service offerings.

• Demonstrate awareness of legislative issues relating to NP practice and health care.

• Support the Director of Wellness and Associate Director of Health Services in achieving strategic plan and vision for improving health and wellness.

• Review medical records to ensure accuracy and completion.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Degree in Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN).

• Possess Family Nurse Practitioner certification OR Adult Health Nurse Practitioner certification with minimum 2-5 years of clinical experience.

• Possess Autonomous Practice APRN status or be eligible for licensure.

• Must possess and maintain State of Florida license in accordance with Florida State Statute as Family Nurse Practitioner or Adult Health Nurse Practitioner.

• Computer skills, excellent written/verbal communication skills, customer service skills, multi-tasking, and organizational skills.

Work Schedule:

The Nurse Practitioner is a 10-month appointment that will be scheduled to run over 12 months, 4 workdays per week. Schedule will be discussed during the interview process.

Working Environment:

• Front-facing customer service role on-campus (inside and outside).

• Work requires some visual strain as well as physical activity involving bending, stooping, stretching, standing and walking.

• Involves working with body fluids, tissues, or other potentially infectious materials.
