Summary:

The Director, Staff Inclusion & Belonging is responsible for developing, leading and facilitating diversity, equity, inclusion & belonging (DEIB) activities and initiatives which support employee thriving, capacity building, organizational development, constructive conflict resolution and retention, with a primary focus on Rollins‘ non-instruction staff workforce. Collaborates with the Director of Faculty Inclusion and Belonging and colleagues in the Student Center for Inclusion and Belonging and other campus stakeholders on college wide DEIB initiatives as well as efforts to sustain and strengthen Rollins' commitment to Service and Workplace Excellence. Supports the overall functioning and mission of the Human Resources Department by assisting in all areas of talent management and other areas as needed.

The ideal colleague will possess a professional, proactive, resourceful and flexible demeanor, and will be successful by developing strong partnerships throughout the Rollins community. Given the unprecedented shift in employee expectations regarding workplace equity and flexibility, we are looking for a highly organized, empathetic, and collaborative HR DEIB professional that can bring their subject matter expertise to elevate the staff employee work experience in an evolving hybrid work environment. This position reports to the Associate Vice President, Human Resources & Risk Management.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Serve as a member of the core campus leadership team charged with stewarding the College's DEIB strategic plan.
• Serve as a thought partner and collaborator with key campus leaders and stakeholders in the development and implementation of activities which support the College's Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging (DEIB) strategy, ensuring that workforce DEIB initiatives are implemented in an integrated manner throughout the College.
• Participate in and/or lead key meetings, task forces, and special committees and lead and support stakeholders in initiatives that advance the College's strategic priorities around DEI work as they pertain to the workplace, with an emphasis on non-instructional staff.
• Collaborate with campus partners and stakeholders in assessing campus and workplace climate.
• Lead, facilitate, and engage in discussions involving campus climate concerns and opportunities; Create safe spaces for meaningful engagement and dialogue on topics such as race, sexual orientation, ability, gender identity, and religion.
• Assist with the assessment of College's programs, policies, procedures and practices to identify gaps and barriers that limit progress in the areas of DEIB.
• Create a strong partnership with all members of the Rollins community to advance the recruitment, support for and retention of staff from diverse backgrounds.
• Collaborate with campus stakeholders to research and recommend improvements to the bias response and intervention structure based on best practices and work with campus leaders to develop and facilitate efforts related to prevention, education, and intervention.
• Facilitate productive communication among and between employees, managers, and students, providing consult, guidance, intervention and mediation in the resolution of complaints, conflicts and disputes.
• Serve as an advocate, mentor, and resource in support of underrepresented staff.
• Help operationalize the norms for DEIB in how we hire, onboard, design work, develop and retain staff.
• Identify, establish and facilitate staff leadership development workshops and professional development programs to promote a culture of inclusion, diversity, equity, and anti-racism.
• Assist in the orientation for new staff hires to welcome them into the campus, conduct coordinated check-ins of new hires during their first 2 years of employment; conduct stay and exit interviews.
• Develop communications and communication strategies, web pages, tools and resources for enhancing awareness of and access to DEIB policies, programs and support services.
• Create and maintain a professional network of internal and external higher education professionals, consultants, and subject matter experts who can serve as topic-specific speakers for campus training sessions.
• Manage and oversee the College's Employee Resource Groups (ERGs).
• Serve as a member of the College's Administrative Council, DEIB steering committee, Diversity Council, Bias Incident Response Team, and other committees and teams as assigned.
• Maintain an active affiliation with relevant consortiums and associations, to include LACRELA, ACS, and others.

Minimum
Qualifications & Education:

• Bachelors degree from an accredited University or College.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible HR experience encompassing work directly related to the essential functions of the position.
• Demonstrated work experience in planning and facilitating training, professional development programs, and/or change management.
• Experience designing and implementing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion strategies, including addressing system and policy issues and facilitating discussions.
• Experience in conflict mediation and resolution.

Preferred
Qualifications:

• Master's degree in HR Administration, Management, Organizational Development, or other related field.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Advanced knowledge of DEIB workplace best practices.
• Evidence of success in promoting and advancing organizational diversity initiatives and goals.
• Ability to foster open transparent communications and proactively build positive relationships with faculty, staff, students, and diverse constituencies.

Work Environment:

• Campus-based position with the ability for flexible hybrid scheduling.
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and visual strain working on a computer.
• May require traveling for offsite meetings.
• Highly collaborative team of (9) HR, Payroll & Risk Management professionals working in a shared office environment.
