UCF RESTORES:
UCF RESTORES is a nonprofit clinical research center and treatment clinic established to change the way posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other trauma-related concerns are understood, diagnosed and treated. UCF RESTORES' first-of-its-kind approach to treatment – including a highly successful intensive outpatient program – combines evidence-based individual exposure therapy, virtual reality technology, and group treatment sessions to help those suffering in the wake of trauma.
The Opportunity
UCF RESTORES is looking to fill two Behavioral Health Navigator positions. The Behavioral Health Navigator will respond to requests that come to the UCF RESTORES regional behavioral health support center for assistance with finding appropriate resources for the behavioral health needs of first responders. This may include requests from first responders or their families as well as requests from peer support specialists. The Behavioral Health Specialist will also assist in the training of first responders and their families in peer support services and in building behavioral health access plans.
UCF is seeking to fill multiple roles. Candidates for this job posting will be considered for additional vacancies in this department.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the point of contact for clinical referrals/clinical intervention/clinical decision-making for first responders in need of behavioral health services.
- Provide appropriate behavioral health referrals to anyone requesting such services including first responders, first responder family members, community agencies, or the public.
- Establish collaborative relationships with behavioral health agencies and state-managing entities in Florida to establish a continuum of care.
- Assist in the training workshops for first responders and their families in the area of peer support and suicide prevention/post vention.
- Assist in the development of strategic planning to set up model behavioral access plans for first responders.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree in psychological field (psychology, social work, mental health counseling).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Licensed as a Clinical Social Worker or Mental Health Counselor by the State of Florida.
- Experience with providing mental health services for first responders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Capable of using Microsoft Word and Excel, web-based conferencing systems.
- Able to drive throughout Florida.
