The Opportunity:
The Space Utilization Coordinator III position will be responsible for assisting with the allocation and reviewing of the utilization of the university's physical spaces. Thus, redefining how spaces are being used to engage and inspire students, faculty, and staff in the most effective and efficient way possible. This position allows for collaboration across multiple disciplines, contributing to the development of an interconnected and dynamic academic landscape. As a part of the Space Administration team, your ideas and expertise will foster a new wave of cutting-edge learning and working environments. These innovative solutions will have a direct impact on the student experience, faculty productivity, and overall success of our academic programs.
Responsibilities:
Assist with space data gathering and data file maintenance.
Contribute to maintaining and tracking the building and space inventory of university-owned, leased, and joint-use facilities.
Conduct physical verification of space database inventory by performing annual building inspections.
Manage annual university-wide space survey data collection of personnel locations.
Establish university directory within space database.
Collect research funding and grant activity location data.
Develop space standards and manage process for updating as appropriate.
Manage space request intake, assess space needs in collaboration with requesters, and develop recommendations for resolution.
Develop associated test fits in computer-aided design (CAD)/Revit of potential solutions.
Assist with project intake and management of space requests for the University Space Committee.
Update university floor plans using 2D Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) and 3D Building Information Models (BIM) software. Create floor plans in CAD/BIM when applicable.
Assist with Educational Plant Survey processes including validation and needs assessment preparation and documentation.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in architecture, construction management, or related fields, plus at least four years of professional experience in university space planning and management.
Experience in space planning and developing space programs is essential.
Ability to create reports and other documentation related to space utilization, allocation, and alterations.
Demonstrated experience working with relevant systems such as Florida Inventory Tracking System, State University Database System, AiM Space graphical reports, etc.

This is an Auxiliary (AUX) funded position. Employment is subject to availability of funding and may cease at the time funding for this employment is depleted.
Position requires a valid Class E driver's license. The position may involve driving to various locations on and off campus to conduct University business.
