Maintenance Support/Laborer

Provide general labor support to all divisions within the Maintenance Department, and to other Aviation Authority departments as required. Perform semi-skilled general labor tasks, which include, but are not limited to, moving furniture and equipment, material handling, vehicle operation, work site cleanup after job completion, policing of grounds, and debris removal. Provide additional personnel resource to other trades shops and maintenance divisions as needed. Perform other duties as assigned.


  • High school graduate or equivalent and at least one (1) year of experience as a construction or maintenance laborer, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • This position requires heavy lifting and the ability to work outside in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Ability to operate various equipment (i.e. flat bed trucks, dump trucks, sweepers, forklifts and small all-terrain vehicles).
  • Knowledge of essential safety equipment and protective devices and be able to use basic hand tools and small power tools safely.
  • Must be capable of properly operating field communications equipment. Florida Class "B" Commercial Driver's License is required or the ability to obtain the license as a condition of employment within ninety (90) days of hire.
  • Must be able and willing to work various shifts, weekends and holidays, as needed.
